FAQs

1. Where is the Thomas Tull Concert Hall Located?

The Thomas Tull Concert Hall is located at 201 Amherst St, Cambridge, MA 02139, inside the Edward and Joyce Linde Music Building (Building W18) at MIT.

2. Where should I park when visiting the Thomas Tull      Concert Hall at MIT on Saturday, September 27?

A two-level 142-space parking garage occupies the space beneath the building and you can park in that garage.  There is a limited amount of street parking available on the streets nearby.

3. Where is the Harvard Dance Center Located?

The Harvard Dance Center is located at 66 Garden St, Cambridge, MA 02138.

4. Where should I park when visiting the Harvard Dance Center at MIT on Sunday, September 28?

A parking lot is located next to the Harvard Dance Center (owned by Harvard's Astrophysics Department) and you may pay by the hour by downloading the ZipBy App. There are signs around the parking lot indicating the zone number. There is also a kiosk in the upper parking lot bordering Madison St. that allows you to pay by the hour with a credit card.

5. Is there a discounted pass for attending only one day of the conference?

No. All attendees must purchase a full conference pass for attendance on either or both days. 

6. Does the student ticket tier include access to the MITHAS evening dance concert?

No, the student ticket does not include entry to the MITHAS concert. However, students with a valid student ID receive free admission to MITHAS evening concerts, subject to availability. To guarantee a seat, we recommend purchasing either:

7. What time will registration open on Saturday?

We anticipate registration to open at 7:30 AM on Saturday, September 27th. Please check the schedule closer to the conference date for updated timings.

Travel information and details about the conference hotel block rate are available here. Reservations must be made by September 2 to receive the discounted rate.

10. I am not an Indian classical dancer, will this conference be useful to me?

Absolutely. While Intersections is centered on Indian classical dance traditions, the conference explores broader questions that resonate across the dance field, including:

  • How do traditional forms evolve in new cultural contexts?

  • What professional infrastructures do artists need to thrive?

  • How can dance be positioned as a cultural practice and as a vital artistic, intellectual, and political force?

11. Is there a refund or transfer policy?

Tickets are non-refundable. However, passes may be transferred to another attendee until September 10, 2025. Please contact the organizers at intersectionsdanceconference@gmail.com to request a transfer.

12. What should I bring with me to the workshops on Sunday, September 28?

We recommend:

  • Comfortable dance attire you can move in

  • A notebook and pen for reflection and discussion

  • A refillable water bottle
