Math in Motion: Unveiling Rhythms of the Universe
Poster
Why do we, as humans, feel inherently drawn to rhythm? What makes it so universally captivating that we seek it in the very structure of our existence? From the spirals of sunflower seeds to the rotation of galaxies, from the crashing of ocean waves to the delicate fall of water droplets—rhythm is not just found in music and dance but embedded in the architecture of the cosmos itself. This research connects rhythm with Kathak, exploring parallels between art and mathematics. Concepts like sam (first beat) and taal (rhythmic cycle) reveal mathematical patterns in symmetry and timing. Anchored in *Chandaḥ Śāstra* and the Hemachandra sequence, the project challenges the boundaries between arts and sciences, demonstrating rhythm’s universal significance.
